![]() Auto mode doesn't seem to work because I just get an "Overclocking failed! Press F1 to enter setup" error at boot time. Yet it keeps trying to do so and it ends up running my CPU wayyyy too hot (it'll reach 190☏ in a matter of a few minutes outside of BIOS) and it sets RAM timings in such a way that it makes my RAM unstable causing constant random freezing. I just want my system to run at stock speeds at all times. Manual is, obviously, a means to let me set timings and such myself.īut I don't want any of that. Auto and Manual appear simply to be two different ways for the board itself to manage overclock settings based on system demand. Note the lack of a None or Disabled option. In the advanced settings, under Ai Tweaker, there are three settings you can choose: Auto, Manual, and DOCP. But I immedately ran into a problem: It wants to overclock my system. So it's got the fancy new UEFI BIOS in it, which is good because I just bought two new 3TB drives and this would let me use them without a drive extender app. It still works but RAM slots 2 and 4 appear to be flaky, as placing any RAM sticks in there causes serious system instabilities. I bought the aforementioned board to replace my dying Asus M4A785TD-V Evo board. ![]()
